We recently joined McDonalds as they revealed their new gourmet burgers in style. The experience was quite different and a first for many, including me. Food tasting in the in dark. The room was completely dimmed and we were presented with masks to cover our eyes. MC for the night, Donavan Goliath, did an amazing job in guiding us through the meals. The ingredients where introduced to us very elegantly, served on a wooden plate. Presentation was impeccable. After several ingredient tasting we were presented with the delicious final product…. McDonald’s SA is shaking things up this summer with three mouth-watering new burgers – meet the McDSupremes. McDonald’s SA is known for creating customer noticeable change through their commitment to listening to their consumers, and these burgers, crammed full of flavour, are a result of that ever-present attention.
Developed in conjunction with renowned food specialist Executive Chef Martin Kobald, Honorary President of the prestigious South African Chefs Association (SACA), McDonald’s SA answered the customer’s call for more flavour when creating the three new burgers. The use of premium ingredients, including the locally-loved tang of the uniquely South African Peppadew®, also features red onion, rocket, and jalapeño, which are a fresh menu inclusion for the fast-casual dining chain.
The collection includes:
- The Grand Chicken® with Peppadew®: a tender chicken breast cooked to crispy perfection in a seasoned coating, topped with Peppadew® Peppers, red onion, rocket, cheese and tomato, and finished with our most-loved jalapeño sauce
- Quarter Pounder® with Peppadew®: a succulent 100% beef patty, topped with Peppadew® Peppers, red onion, rocket, two slices of cheese, tomato, and finished with our most-loved jalapeño sauce
- Quarter Pounder® with Jalapeño relish: a succulent 100% beef patty, topped with red onion, rocket, two slices of cheese, tomato, and finished with our new jalapeño relish
The McDSupremes burger range is available at all McDonald’s restaurants across South Africa from today until mid-January 2017
