What I love about Trail Running
I love pushing myself and finding my edge and pushing a little more until there’s nothing left. I like challenges, both mentally and physically. That’s how my trail running journey started. I began to spend more time on trails and quickly realized how in tune I felt out there. This was what I had wanted to feel with running for so long. I could just unplug and go for hours. It was a way to connect to myself, and everything around me. If you want to see beautiful places, find hidden spots right on your doorstep or go on a mini adventure, then get on the trails. There’s nothing better than getting lost in a muddy forest or running up a hill ‘just because it’s there’. Trail running has and continues to take me to some fantastic places. Regardless of your pace or ability, dealing with hills and tough underfoot conditions or navigational challenges makes you feel that you have done more than just run from A to B. You’ve conquered something.
The New V-Lite Ox-Trail Racer
I was first introduced to Hi-Tec years ago through hiking. We are an outdoors family and hike a lot, and of course I dress my entire family. I chose Hi-Tec because they have a proven track record in terms of durability and strength. This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. 5 years later and our hiking boots are still intact. They are by far the best brand for hiking. So why not explore their other products beyond hiking.
Excitement hit me when I was introduced to the new V-lite Ox-trail Racers. I signed up for race as soon as I got my new pair so I could take these babies for a ride. It’s important to be organized the day before the race and make sure you have the proper gear, nutrition, hydration and all accoutrements for the run. It’s always important to have good running shoes-but even more so when it comes to trail running. You may think you can get by with running shoes you already have, but it’s crucial to wear a proper trail shoe with grip to help you safely glide over rocks, boulders, hills, grass, and just about every type of terrain you can imagine.
I love the V-lite Ox-trail Racer pair because they have intense traction, plenty of cushion in the heel, and were lace less, eliminating any risk of them becoming untied or hooking onto sticks, shrubs, or other obstacles in my path. Are they as light as they Hi-Tec claims? I was pleasantly surprised because they really are lighter than I’d ever imagined.
